"You certainly seem to be very energetic and productive, which obviously accounts for your success.  I am enjoying what I am hearing on the (classical) CD. Your writing is "traditional", meaning not in the 20th-21st century avant-garde style. I am sure this allows for a more successful audience."

RE: Gypsy Tango, 02/28/2007

Gary, This is absolutely beautiful, and evocative as you say, of a romantic Gypsy night!  It reminds me of my summer nights at the Samois, France Django Rheinhardt Gypsy Music Festival, sitting around the campfire with French Gypsy musicians in front of their RV "wagons!"

RE:  Basses Rule, 04/06/2007

I just listened ... and the piece is very enjoyable and well written. It is well thought out and well composed, unlike so many public school pieces written for the less advanced students. It sounds enjoyable to play because of the rich writing and attractive themes. Public school orchestras could use a lot more writing like yours for the enjoyment of playing while growing musically. So much of the 'educator' written pieces have little or no inspiration musically and seem to be created to make another modestly capable educator a recognized icon in the field of music education.
